so that system would fall short vertically — it might work for current and earlier versions of CM, but Carbide Create will either have you scrolling a lot, or have UI issues.
The display resolution height spec for Carbide Motion really doesn’t make much sense.
Pretty much all display panels are 16:9 or 16:10 resolutions now unless you go ultrawide. I haven’t seen a 4:3 display in forever. And the spec aspect ratio is for something in-between - 5:4???
I maybe recall using that spec on an old CRT monitor 20+ years ago.
Would love to know how CM got tagged with this.
But honestly, I don’t see how Carbide Motion could possibly not be designed for 16:9 displays with a minimum width of 1280px - which means a height of 720px.
Your laptop should be fine both in terms of compute capacity & display resolution.
I run Carbide Motion on a RPi5 with a 10" 1280x720px touchscreen & it’s perfectly fine.
