Hey all. I’m now in the tweaking stage of working on our “niche” of CNC HDU signs. Currently I’m looking to gain time.
My question of the day:
What determines max feed speeds and max plunge?
I have not even come close to getting any chatter, quality has not changed, bits are cool to the touch. I’m maxing out the increase feed option.
I’m usually running two bits (always running an advanced v-carve):
- 1/8" endmill, 1/4" shank at 16000 rpm feed speed at 2500mm, plunging 2.5mm
- 30° Vee groove, 1/4" shank at 18000 rpm, 3000mm feed, 1.5mm plunge
I have the 65mm vfd spindle kit 110v. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Where could I max out and what are the dangers? Spindle damage? Bit breakage?
Thanks!
