Is Anti-Static hose necessary? We bought the Dust Right Wall Mount 650 CFM, with the 4" Anti-Static Hose, but this hose is heavy and bulky. Can we attach a non anti-static hose to the Sweepy and then use a reducer to the 4" hose? We plan to hang it from ceiling so it will move with the spindle/gantry. Help?
It certainly doesn’t hurt, especially if it has the static dissipative property, even more so if the dust collection setup arranges to connect it to ground.
Some folks who use normal hoses have found it necessary to ground the hose setup, usually by running a bare wire through the hose to ground (being careful not to create a ground loop).
