Shop Table For 4 Standard

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the world of CNC and just set up my 4. I love the machine but the table I have is not stable enough when the router is running. Any recommendations would help a lot.

Thank you

Pretty much anything intended as a workbench will work (my understanding is that fitting on a typical workbench was one of the initial design considerations/constraints)

The “Seville Classics Ultra Graphite Wood Top Workbench on Wheels with Sliding Organizer Drawer Table, 48”, Satin Graphite" has been suggested in the past, and we of course use a lot of Kreg workbenches in our shop:

and I used a table better suited for a Standard or XL sized SO3/4/Pro for my SO5 4x2:

and I have my SO3 XL on a Crafsman Tool Cabinet, while an SO3 Standard is on a folding miter saw stand (which I believe would work for an SO4 or Pro):

Thanks for the help and Ideas

I have an SO3 XXL. The table is 4x4 legs and 2x8 apron with a double plywood top. The table has wheels that lock in two directions. Later I added a 6" high torsion box. I removed the leveling feet and placed a 3/4" piece of rigid foam under the machine. SO3 XXL’s have a tendency to droop in the middle of the factory base board. Sitting on the substantial table, torsion box and the foam the SO3 does not move at all.

There are many commercial tables available. Lowes and Home Depot sell a metal one that raises and lowers.

Lowes sells a comparable table as well.

There are tons of youtube videos about making work tables out of 2 by material. Whatever you get make sure it has wheels.

I have a PRO XL (The numberless one between the 4 and the 5) and got a rolling tool cabinet from Home Depot to put it on. The 4 Standard is smaller, and probably can fit on one of the smaller rolling tool cabinets. I like it since I have drawers for clamps, and bits and other stuff.
I built a small outrigger to hold the spindle controller when I did that upgrade last year.
A lot of what folks are showing in this thread are for the larger machines. My brother bought a used 5 Pro (4x4) and he did the big blue table that everyone was using and that works well for that size machine. For a smaller machine the tool cabinets are nice, and have enough mass to keep things from moving too much (plus the casters lock).

Here’s my SO4S on the right side of the pic. Its on a mobile workbench.
SO4XL mounted on the same kind of workbench on the left.
I have to move them off to the side of my garage so I can get the car in so being on moveable workbenches works good for me.
