Stealthsonic aftermark bags - any good?

I am flattening a lot of pine and generating a lot of chips.

Are any of the aftermarket bags any good ? Certainly cheaper.

I have a 5 gal mullet with a 6 gal Stealthsonic vacuum and a 9 gal pre-Stealthsonic vacuum for general use.

I am using up bags on the 9 gal vacuum. I have to change my cleanup process to go to the Mullet.

Bags work but I have 3 shop vacs in my woodworking shop. I dont use bags and just take the filters out and beat them on a tree. I guess bags may reduce the fine dust that the shop vac exhausts but for all the hassle and cost there is already a filter in the shop vacs. The bags just contain the mess inside the bag and the filter is what keeps the fine dust from exiting the shop vac so buy good hepa filters and leave the bags out. Even if you want to use the bags empty them if your material is not wet and reuse them until they get too clogged up or start ripping.

I have the Onieda Super Dust Deputy with 5" connections. That is in front of my Jet 1300CFM Dust collector with a pleated filter. When I start seeing dust in the dust colletor bag I know my cyclone is full and it is time to empty. On top of that I have a Jet Air Filter suspended from the ceiling that I use when sanding. I have connections to hook up my RO sander to the vacumn but dragging the hose around is more effort than I want to put in. The air filters are relatively cheap and there are several manufacturers at reasonable pricess. Dewalt has one for $279.00 on Amazon and if you shop around you can likely find similar for even lower price.

@gdon_2003 love beating them against a tree !
Cheap bags it is. I have a air dust handler.

I have the came-with-it DeWalt bag in my 6 gallon, about 20% of the canister fill is outside the bag so I don’t know how much worse a non-DeWalt bag can be. It doesn’t fit very snugly around the intake.

But still happy with the Stealthsonic. There’s more noise from the suction than from the motor.

Hello everyone.
sorry if this is a simple question
I just got the 9 gallon dewalt shop vac stealthsonic. I am looking for an adapter to connect to my shapeoko 3.
the vac hose opening is 2.25 (not the standard 2.5). The end of the hose is 1.5 in and the dust collector attached to the router has an opening 2.5. Is there a kit or adapters that help with connecting the vac to the router?
thanks in advance for the help

Have a look on Amazon. When I bought a hose for my dust extractor setup it came with a number of adapters. There’s also adapter kits … you just need to check the sizes before you order

Usually I’m able to find what I need at the local Woodcraft (or similar specialty woodworking shop — maybe Rockler is closer?)

Or, one can just make one:

I made some adapters recently with pvc.
