Steel-Core Belt Upgrade

I received my new belts way faster than I thought I would. Couldn’t have come at a better time because the “injured” belt I was limping around on was quickly degrading. New ones are slightly different and not marked with the “POWGE 2gt-0.9” but they do have 7 strands of steel as opposed to my old ones which only had 6.

8 months life, pretty decent! Imo a 6 month life cycle should be safe.

8 months for you so the rest of us should be good for 8 years

I put the steel core belt on the X-Axis yesterday and recalibrated it. The Y axis belts are still good so I didn’t replace them yet.

After calibration, X and Y are within 0.004" after a 12" move. Y accuracy was still good from last calibration so I didn’t touch it. I love it.
