I have never had the problems in wood working this thing gives me. V carve inlays stays slop[py no matter how i do them. the inlay plug mode used as directed is loose and big glue gaps. say my pocket is .25 then the plug .23 its loose if I increase to .24 it still the same .22 still the same. same bits same feeds everything i am really disappointed. to the point of really trashing the machine the program and all buying something else and professional software.
Post your file. Many have made good inlays. Dont hate just get some advise. I know it is frustrating when things dont work like you want them to but this forum is great at giving help.

I have asked for help on several other inlays and well its not been a good turn around. the inlays always come out loose. Carbide does inlays based off islands in which on a big inlay a v carve has to have a flat bottom. but there math does not take in account for that to get a wedge lock with little glue line present. or it just plain bottoms out. it may be good for some but, I have also read countless others from across the net about the same problems. If I was just doing some hobby things it might suffice. But this just is not cutting the mustard for me. I tend to be a perfectionist. I will go back to the old way of inlays or find a better program for v carve. Short and easy like most times becomes costly in the end.
It’s tough to troubleshoot as there are many variables.
Try a small test part with plug depth set to 0.0, and Top set to your desired top gap + your desired plug depth. It should theoretically not fit into the pocket at all, but it likely will a bit. Measure the results & use the difference as a ‘fudge factor’ for the actual numbers you need.
