I have a very specific project in mind, which I already successfully did using Carveco software, but seeing if I can replicate using Carbide Create.
So I’m able to import the grey scale of the 3D map I want to carve. What I’m not sure how to do is I have a vector line of a trail I’d like to import and extrude up a couple mm along the contoured mountains? Is that possible? If so, I’d also like to so the same with some text.
Lastly, is this all possible to pull off using a tapered ball-nose?
While Carbide Create does not support a tapered ball-nose as such, they may be entered and used as ball-nose tooling — so long as there is no feature so vertical that the taper will cut it away.
That’s good to hear! I’ve pretty new to CNC stuff. Is it possible to list the steps or point me to a tutorial that would out me in the right direction?
So grey scaled map and trail vectors imported. How do I model so the surface of the vector runs say 3mm above the surface of the mountain range as it contours?
