After a mishap last week (where I unfortunately found out the front right near the bitsetter is not usable space when using the sweepy), I’m trying to test if I can get the machine running properly again without the spindle.
The X location was thrown off after the sweepy hit the bitsetter, which I was confused about, because my work was only 22x22, but here I am. I followed the suggestions from the other thread hoping it will be fixed.
Anyhow, in looking at the steps to use a pen, it says:
Running a Job
- Tape your paper down to the table.
- Place an additional sheet on top to help zero.
- Jog to X/Y/Z zero with the pen tip touching the top sheet of paper.
- Jog the Z down by 0.1mm - The pen should touch the spacer paper.
- Zero the machine.
- Jog Z up 5mm.
Here’s my question - is the “additional sheet” in step 2 the same as “spacer paper” in step 4 (two terms for the same thing)…or is “Spacer Paper” a special spacing sheet?
Also, I’m seeing it says jog up 5mm and wondering what that is for. Is that to account for the 5mm spacer paper? …or something else?
Oh, and do I use a specific tool path? How is that set?
