So I had downloaded version 8 and when I open my files it didn’t transfer the 3 d model . Is this normal that I have to reprogram the 3 d model steps if I want to continue with version 8 ? I know I can keep using v7 to machine my files but that’s a ton of cross programing I would have to do. Thanks Danny

They changed the schema (data format) for 3D models in V8, so pre-V8 models are not compatible.

Files from prior versions will not load 3D components in V8. There were too many changes to the internal format for the new capabilities of 3D, and there was no good way to map existing 3D components into V8.
so v7 files will need to be converted so as to use them in v8. Fortunately, Carbide Create has a feature for exporting the 3D model as a height/depth map pixel image:
