Vetric ARRAY COPY TOOLPATH

Hi, I have a Pro5 2x4 machine and I just purchased Vetric Pro sware. I want to use the software ARRAY COPY TOOLPATH feature with the minimize tool feature. When I go to download the toolpaths I get this error “ARRAY COPY TOOLPATHS ARE NOT SUPPORTED FOR MULTI-FILE SHARING”. I do not have a tool changer but before I run my array project I want to make sure my Pro5 controller will stop at each “tool change” and prompt me to change tool. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks, Pete

Can you post the file? You may have to “zip” it to share it.

I think you need a file for each tool. You could nest the parts and select the correct vectors making toolpaths that will work with tool change. As Anthony said,

and we can help you sort it out.

What post-processor did you set up on Vectric? (I am assuming you are on Vcarve Pro). There is a post processor that has the tool change sequence. There are if I recall correctly 2 or 3 versions depending on whether you have a spindle or not. I have a Pro XL using Vcarve Pro with the post procesor and have no problems with the embedded tool change prompts.

Here is a link to the thread talking about the different post-processors for Vectric.

ok so I keep replying to myself. But I went and checked on the design computer, and I am running
the Carbide Motion ATC v7d post processor. This will prompt for the tool change and then the automatic bit length measurement. Not exactly full automatic tool change, but I think that is what you are wanting.
