I’ve ordered this several times in the past, at first it was great but then my last order was like this too. I figured it might just be a bad batch and order it again but this one is the exact same if not worse. Don’t waste your money.
I’ve wasted almost half the roll to finish 5 boards that are 19x12.Buyer beware! Product is no good!
There are a lot of recent reviews like these last two quotes. I know. I hate Amazon reviews, too, but there does seem to be a recent trend.
It seems that something like the first 10 feet work fine, but after that the stuff starts sticking to itself.
I lifted the image (very small) from their website. That’s why the text is a bit wonky.
I will fess up. They get the piece tomorrow at their open house. I get to walk around the fab/machine shop.
I finally got around to making my hobby logo sign yesterday. I did a test cut in MDF a while ago, made a few little changes and did it in walnut. I gave it a light coat of Odies oil and now its ready to hang.
Well, I didn’t quite finish off the roll of that tape, but it can’t have more than a couple of feet left on it. I didn’t encounter any problems like that reviewer mentioned. It was completely fine all the way from the start.
My daughter’s first birthday is fast approaching so I made her a name puzzle from walnut and a rather characterful piece of maple. Hopefully she can enjoy it for years to come!
This will be an auction item for the school I teach at to help towards tuition aid for families that attend our school. It’s about 20x20. Redwood background, beech wood for Wa State and letters; coloring of WA was done with Crayola watercolors. Letters were cut with Jtech laser. I really wanted the state to be out of one piece of wood…which it is, but I forgot to pay attention to which way the wood was going to cup, and it made for a bit more work to make the wood behave. The state is inset about 1/4" which I was going to do no matter what, but it does also help hide the cupping.
How did you paint the green? Did you airbrush or just paint it. Looks great. Someone here on the forum linked to a sight that does spiral conversions. I did one for Idaho where my sister lives. Have not had a chance to cut it yet. The site is quite interesting.
Here is a quick vcarve tool path on 8.5" x 11" material. It still needs some tweaking but for portraits I think it is quite unique.
I just about a 1/2-inch brush. I used the green and made sure the paint had enough water so it went on more like a stain than a paint and then dapped up the extra water with a paper towel. I used brown on the green to achieve a deeper, darker green.
I used my 44W jtech laser. 90 ipm / 100% power, 7 passes. 1/4 in thick wood. I could have made the cut in 1 pass at 18 ipm / 100% power but I was worried that I might get some burn out and lose some detail with the small letters.
Finalized a USC Trojans cutting/charcuterie board. Made a couple of small mistakes that I don’t think the new owner will notice, but I’m betting you CNC pros will see them.
It looks great. I took it as a challenge to see if I could find you “mistake”. Is not having the correct order with your carves and your resin pours. The lines being poured after the helmet? I don’t think that’s a big deal. Your customer will love it. Often the mistakes I make glare out at me, but others don’t seem to notice them.
