What hoses/connectors are folks using?

I bought a Fulton/Peachtree anti-static/conductive hose a long while back, but it seems to have since been discontinued.

I also bought:

(but it wound up unused in my shed for reasons)

and I’ve since purchased:

and

(which I have been using on my machine and which were a marked improvement over the previous system of hose clamps and so forth)

Has anyone else found anything which works especially well?

Anything which folks would caution against (i.e., the hose clamps)?

I’ve had good luck with this one so far and the bevy of connectors is appreciated. I think this one has a fairly robust 3d printing community but I’d need to check again to be sure:

And of course there’s the Cadillac that is festool but I’ve not tried their hose yet. It’ll probably be the next one I get when the expandable one gets annoying to deal with.

I actually switched away from a (tapered) Festool hose because it was noisy and opaque and prone to clogging due to the narrower connection — I don’t see that Festool offers a ~63mm (2.5") diameter hose, and the straight 50mm which they do offer is a significant reduction in diameter — if there is some specific Festool hose which is suited to use w/ our machines I’d be interested to learn of it.

I suppose that depends on the definition of “our machines” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
For a nomad, 50mm seems…ok? Maybe not ideal but it’ll be worth trying when the time comes to replace my current hose.

I’m sure I’ll post about it when it happens :slightly_smiling_face:

For the Nomad, 50mm seems a bit large — ironically, that Rockler hose kit you linked is suggested for use with the Nomad due to its flexibility:

(I actually bought it when it was first mentioned, but haven’t had much occasion to use it)

It doesn’t specifically say anti-static, but I have never had any problems. I grounded the support wire and called it a day.

I bought that same Rockler kit for my Dewalt 5" RO sander. For me it has not worked that well. The connection is not tight enough and falls off spraying dust out of the RO sander. I have other Rockler dust hoses that I am quite happy with. My main dust collection hose is a 4" 10’ that connects to my Onieda cyclone dust separator (works great) and use on a bunch of different machines I pull out into the center of my shop to use.

I went big with a DC system and 6" DWV pipe, then bought some aluminum 6", 4" and 2.5" blast gates to close off runs I am not using. Then, designed and printed some adapters to go from the 6" blast gates to 4" and 2.5" flex hoses.

Since I went that far, I used the original 2.5" Suck-It as a start and super-sized the design to work with a 4" hose, and it really improved the dust collection when cutting MDF.

Designed a 2.5" hose adapter for my WEN belt sander.

Designed a 2.5" hose adapter for my Bosch 5" RO sander.
