Hey all -
Is anyone willing to share some photos of the wiring on their Shapeoko Pros? I have all these plugs just kinda floating in space and either I did it wrong or they’re all messy.
I’m looking for where the wires transition from one axis to another.
This picture is from the manual but this is exactly what I’m talking about:
I wasn’t sure what you are looking for, but the photos are a Pro4 XXL. Mine have floated in space for 5 years without issue…except the very occassional disconect. I pop 'em apart and pop 'em back together and everything works. There is a regular here who puts electrical cables on them to hold them together tightly. That’s a great idea but I haven’t found it necessary. Now. If your problem is that they are connecting to the wrong stepper motor…that is a different discussion. Tell support exactly what you need.
It just… incomplete. It has never snagged on anything, but it has definitely threatened to.
I couldn’t tell if I had done it wrong.
The wiring on my Pro XL looks similar to the manual but not quite. I used larger zip ties to tidy things up making sure nothing would snag or restrict reach. No issues to date.
I didn’t do anything with my SO Pro’s wiring, since it seemed reasonably contained/managed with short runs — since I am planning a mobile cart for it, that may change and I’ll see if any principles from:
can be applied.
I certainly did not use 7 zip ties. Just a couple for extra control.
