Saw this in a furniture store and liked the look and it was quite comfortable. Used a photo, scaled to actual size then did the design in CorelDraw. The back and seat portion were done with the more traditional table saw and dominos for the joints. If you look at the parts being cut, there are mortises for the dominos in them as well - much easier to position them this way.
I was using a couple of boards I had laying around the shop for the side pieces. One was a bit too short so I did a kind of mouse ears joint and it seemed to work out quite well.
Current status is stained and working on the leather upholstery

There was a PDF published a while back:
which has a number of joints. Discussed at:
So I’ve made a few projects so far, and for each I’ve manually put in dogbones and such, but I’m aiming to do some more complex stuff now, and the prospect of intricately creating dogbones for each inner corner throughout the piece of furniture is super daunting.
Plus, I’ve come across some really interesting CNC-specific joinery options that look beautiful.

Also come across this in Make Magazine:

We had a contest on joinery as well:
Hello everyone,
I was sitting on the fence about putting the community challenges on hold during these troubled times, but I figured that we could still use this opportunity to take a break from the news, and have some fun in the shop (hopefully, many among you still have access to their machines)
I’d like to thank you again for the great entries and 50+ voters in community challenge #5 .
Challenge #6 is: Creative Joinery!
The goal is to make joints that look fancy or interesting/unusual.
Ma…
and I’ve been looking at it in-depth at:
