Cutrocket files

This will be a little long. I am new to CNC world so excuse me if this is normal but I don’t understand it. I purchased a Shapoko 5 pro 4x4 and am using the carbide create pro software. I went on the cut rocket site to get a few items to start making and 9 of the 11 I down loaded would not populate after down load. So, I used 1 of my 4 30 minute training calls to help me learn what I was doing wrong. So after 2/3 of my call time The support group figured out that files were no longer supported. So not only did I lose a training call I lost a full day trying to figure these out. So where can I find some projects with tool paths Outside of Etsy to experiment with? Thank you.

See:

Yeah, for now, folks pretty much need to have v7:

in addition to v8.

If you’ll let us know which specific project files you had difficulty we can look into them with you here.

There is one more. The cigar tray would not load. to much for reply

Let me know the link of the cigar tray and we’ll walk through that as well.

is:

which opens as:

in v7, but even going back to v6 is much the same, and it doesn’t seem to have toolpaths.

Attached as a v8 file:

Cutrocket - Animal Drawer Pulls - WCCarroll_v8.c2d (576 KB)

This seems to be:

Cutrocket - Beer Flights - inventejeff_v8.c2d (132 KB)

Cutrocket - Monogrammed Valet Tray - Jmcwoodworking_v8.c2d (88 KB)

Cutrocket - ashtry (sic) - petruslab_v8.c2d (752 KB)

Cutrocket - Valet Tray - cdwoodwork_v8.c2d (64 KB)

Cutrocket - iPhone-Watch Catch-All Tray - Wornstandard_v8.c2d (92 KB)

Note that many of these designs have one cutting a slot around a part.

Where possible avoid slotting and add geometry and cut as a pocket

and/or

and consider leaving a roughing clearance and taking a finishing pass.

I have had the same experience at CR. I do note however some of the older files were made with earlier version of CC. I went to CR to download some files to see the architecture of the file itself. This allowed me to understand the inner works of CC to CM so to speak. I then recreated the file in V7 myself. This gained my proficiency in all aspects of the milling operation.

Understanding earlier software versions used is the key. Most of them converted after saving. Now I’m into V8 and having to resave several of my own files I created.

I know this may seem tedious but it grows your knowledge base as well.
