A friend of mine has an old piano and it has a very different shaped hinge device that is broken. He asked if I could cut him a new one on my Shapeoko 4. Problem is, I can’t seem to ensure I get the exact dimensions for the broken piece into the software, The new piece needs to be identical and I’m not sure if this can be done. Any suggestions? I have uploaded a photo of the device he wants cut.
In a centerline form, it looks to be a series of arc’s and lines.
You maybe able to use a compass to reestablish the original design layout.
I would bet the radius values will be “normal”, not some obtuse numbers.
You can try scanning or photogrammetry.
If this is a cover hinge, you will have some tolerance to work with.
