I have pinned two topics to the Carbide Create area:
Does this seem helpful to folks?
If so, suggestions for other topics which should be pinned?
Conversely, any esp. helpful threads which are in the wrong area and should be moved?

While pinned topics can be helpful, often it results in too many topics which get pinned over time & then a lot of clutter to decipher. Perhaps a rolling/sliding banner/pane which cycles thru some of the top topics of the month or 3 months could be implemented? Just a thought.
A valid point.
We will also accept recommendations for topics to unpin.
You mean in the Tutorials section? And I don’t see them pinned???
Thank you for that. It seems that pinning doesn’t work as I expected and is per-user.
The options are:
both of which I didn’t consider since the implementation seems obnoxious.
Obviously, this experiment is a failure.
If you do find a usable way to pin topics, I would like to see a “Best way to ask questions” kind of topic. There are so many posts I see where the first reply is either “Describe your machine” or “Post your C2D file, screenshots just aren’t good enough”.
Maybe a form kind of thing where you answer basic configuration questions.
I just did a quick read about Pinning in Discourse.
It seems to be a way to create sub categories ( containers ) that have additional action/display capabilities.
The warnings of too many Pins is not good, and maintenance is required to keep it fresh.
@WillAdams are you looking for more work ? Yikes .
A rolling “best of” on a given question would be great. I kinda try to keep Chrome bookmarks for this purpose. If you have statistical data about user interaction, that may help in determining what patterns users go through while searching
@Ed.E point is perfect. Maybe like a FAQ section.
