Hello all. I am somewhat new, and ran across a style I want to replicate for some jewelry, but am having trouble wrapping my mind around what settings and toolpaths I should use. I have attached. Basically I want the piece to have a slightly concave look, with the roughed up edges. I have Shapeoko Pro and currently using plain Carbide Create. I’m happy to upgrade if ramping would work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
To get a 3 dimensional shape as is shown in the bundled version of Carbide Create it would be necessary to draw the cut up in profile, draw up the tooling one plans to use, then draw up geometry to which No Offset Contour toolpaths may be assigned so as to cut to the depths necessary to arrive at the desired shape.
This is shown in:

If you have difficulties with this, draw up the piece in multiple views with dimensions and we will walk through this with you.
Thanks you very much. I’ll start looking through those tutorials now. Would it be easier with CC Pro? I’m happy to purchase it it it makes the workflow easier.
Yes, Carbide Create Pro makes doing 3D things which map to its modeling capabilities much easier.
