Is there a way?

Is there a way to use constraints in CC? Say I want to have one-line perfectly parallel to another or have it 90 degrees to said line.

This could be useful even when in “Node Edit” mode.

The only possible constraints are snapping to the grid, or snapping to a node — usually, on complex projects I’ll have a “template” layer which includes additional geometry for snapping to.

Unfortunately, node editing doesn’t snap to nodes, only to the grid.

I think the only way to get restraints in design is to jack CC up and run Fusion 360 under it to replace it.

Other options here include:

  • rotate as needed
  • do the trigonometry to draw in scaffolding for the desired effect
  • create the geometry in a suitable tool and import (did that for a pair of circles a while back)
