I just updated my license info and pulled up some files from last year this time and there is no model or tool path information. Can I recover this somehow? I don’t understand why it all disappeared!
I’m assuming you are using Carbide Create, correct?
What version are you using now, and what version were you using last year?
Version 8 CC will not read Version 7 3D models, it just throws them away. You either have to keep using V7, or re-create them from scratch.
From the C3D blog:
Breaking Changes
- Files from prior versions will not load 3D components in V8. There were too many changes to the internal format for the new capabilities of 3D, and there was no good way to map existing 3D components into V8.
- Create V6 files do not load into V8
- There’s now just V-carve (previously Advanced V-carve). If you load an existing file that has a basic V-carve toolpath from V7, it will be converted to the new V-carve without a pocketing toolpath.

Thank you guys for the help! I had the wrong Carbide Create version open. I opened the older version build 778 and everything was there!
