Hello all, I am new at all of this but gaining quickly thanks to the expert advice on this forum. My quest for today is to learn how to create this effect on HDU or similar material. [image] I would like to have a raised border & graphics on a recessed background. And, then to make matters even more complicated, is it possible to shape the raised graphics with a V bit? V carve + inside pocket?

I’m trying to understand how to use V carve along with a pocketing operation. For example I am wanting to V carve an entire sign but there are large areas that need to be pocketed, would I simply V carve along the lines and then perform an inside pocket after a tool change to a flat in endmill on the inside of the pocket area?
