There’s always the HDM… but for normal use cases, the Shapeoko 5’s gantry extrusion is more than capable enough.

From what I read and understood, the new 5.1 is the version offered only at their site. It might not include the legs, but it will come with the thicker, taller base framing.
Do you have a diagram for the holes? I want to tie it down to the table on both front and back
No diagram, but they’re 25x25mm blocks of M6 holes, spaced every 75mm, centered on an 80mm tall extrusion.
How about those holes for legs?
Never fails, right after I buy something, it’s upgraded.

With the new extrusions and their 25mm hole spacing, that opens up using “25 Series” 80/20 extrusions and “25 Series” brackets and plates to mount to the front and rear extrusions.
So, if you need to repeatably have something flush up against the front, you could do something like this:

I mean, you can always make your own brackets, but sometimes it’s just nice to be able to buy something that is ready to go. You can also get the brackets, and slot between the holes to give them a lot of adjustability.
Any updates on upgrade availability? I’m between a couple projects and would love to do this ASAP.

5.1 upgrade is really interesting to me. Looking at some of the posts below I get the impression that the new tubes will increase the stick size to about 3” in front if you shift gantry. I am very interested in this. Is this assumption correct?
Also while we are speaking of upgrade, speaking to the sales folks at C3D it seems like you might be working on a height increase to the gantry. I have seen Peter at Studioz diy solution to increase height by about 3”. This of course allows additional height for the cuts. I know that the z mount allows about 3” addition.
Can you give me an idea if this is something you guys will make it a reality this year before I try to do a DIY like Peter. It looked like a lot of work.

The amount of overhang when shifting the gantry has not changed. It was, and still remains, about 3".
A riser solution has been discussed, but no consensus has been reached as it’s a product that compromises the usability of the base machine. If you raise the gantry, a compact router will no longer be able to cut down to the wasteboard. Less of an issue if you have a spindle though, but it will need to be something communicated very clearly to buyers. How much additional clearance under the gantry are you looking to get? IF we release a riser, I don’t think it would be as drastic as 3 inches.
Ideally 3”. I would like to get 6” stock under the gantry. I do have the 80” spindle.
