Tool Path & End Mill Suggestion

Trying to create a tool path w/suggested end mill for the Korean Flag file located in the CC Library under “Flags of World Countries.” Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Usually for crisp corners/details folks use V carving.

It’s inherently multi-colour — is an inlay an option?

alternately, consider painting?

What material(s) do you wish to cut? At what size/scale? Which machine do you have? Will tiling be necessary?

Regarding the CC Build 750. I am currently on CC v7 and paid for the license upfront, so this is the new version I will want to be using moving forward? Do I need to enter my license for this?

I am using hardwood for this project, the flag will be about 4" x 3.5"… S5 Pro XL Machine and Spindle.

We recommend folks stay up-to-date, but if you’ve purchased a perpetual license, then you will need to identify the last version release which works with the timeframe of your license and archive a copy of the installer and keep it.

First, set up a file with those dimensions (or a bit larger):

Then import the desired flag from the Library:

and Scale it:

Group Vectors

Align Vectors

and Align to the Center of Stock:

OK

and fit to screen:

Ungroup Vectors:

and click in an empty region to deselect:

One option would be to use the geometry as it is, selecting everything but the open geometry which divides the Yin–Yang symbol:

and assign a V carving toolpath w/ Pocket Clearing:

Use Current Selection

and fill in appropriate values:

which previews as:

Then, select the division:

and assign a No Offset Contour toolpath to a suitable depth w/ the V tool:

Ok

which previews as:

The design could be improved by duplicating the circle, then using Node Editing to make the two halves, then slightly insetting them so that the entire design could be done as a V carving — this is left as an exercise for the reader.

Attached as a v8 file:
