Toolpaths and bit changes

It is the little things that bring you to your knees every time. I want to cut out a design, but first I want to use a roundover bit. When I do the roundover toolpath then the contour cut out it does not stop for a tool change the cnc just does them both without stoping. How do I seperate these two actions to give me time for a tool change. using a shapeoko 4xxl and am trying out carbide create pro

Do you have a BitSetter? It sounds like you don’t.

In that case, you would save the file with only the roundover toolpath enabled, and run that.

After it finishes, change the bit, re-zero on Z, and re-save the file with only the contour path, and run that.

Feat Req: CM warn if file has multiple tools, AND the BitSetter is not enabled

Saw yet another thread about “How do I re-zero my tools in a multi-tool cut”. Carbide Motion should warn the user if the BitSetter is disabled, AND a file with more than one tool used is loaded.

Normally, one would just group the toolpaths by tool, then disable all but the group for the tool which one wishes to use.
