I just bought it as well but need to do some more simple double sided work first.
The commercial contract for these is 150CAD.
Im going to have to wait
Nothing. After my VFD power box went tits up and delivered/pickup to CC 2 Jun I’m waiting on return.
Sweet set up, how are your acrylic panels attached to the aluminum extrusions on the corners?
Thanks! Used .23" Polycarbonate set in 1/4" ID channel using a bead of silicone. It slides in a 1/2" ID Channel with Velcro (brush side only) at the bottom of the track to have it slide without effort. Went with Polycarbonate as it doesn’t shatter like Acrylic. The 1/2" channel adheres to the angle iron frame with heavy duty double sided 3M tape (amazing stuff).
Saw this on reddit and thinking about trying it. Walnut, maple, and padauk thought I would share as I have never seen pixellated woodworking!
Interesting. I have one boy into Minecraft and have been trying to think of something to make for him. It’s so blocky I haven’t found the right thing.
@TonyMurray This concept made me think of a video i watched a month ago. Super cool !!!
Maybe this will give you some ideas for yourself. Enjoy!
Cut a quick fish yesterday for a big chair. First time using the plastic sheets with white core. Looks clean was pretty easy.
I have never tiled before. It took a short little bit to wrap my head around what Carbide Create Pro wanted me to do. But once I figured it out, it was easy. I did a dry run with a +1" offset on Z to check I had it… then ran it at the correct Z. It had around a 1/32" miss match on the right side and I can’t see one on the left. But for a first attempt on 64x36" material with a kinda-ish straight-ish side… I’ll take it.
Tiling is on my bucket list but I have to move the machine away from the wall to try it. Yours looks great. Not sure your HOA will agree
Not having an HOA was literally my first concern when we bought our house. The detached 24x24 shop with 100 amps out to it was the icing on the cake.
Nice. I built a 30x40 workshop at my last house in the boonies. Currently I am working out of a slightly oversized garage thanks to HOA rules. I have 3 adjacent lots and could actually put a shop on one but it would have to look like a house from the HOA perspective so that is prohibitive.
I started working from home last September and visions of moving back to the boonies with cooler summer temps are dancing in my head.
I have never seen people get so mad as when they get a letter from the HOA even if what is in the letter is true. People just dont like the HOA bossing them around. Many HOA’s are out of control and then in another neighborhood they just collect the fees and do not do anything. Where I live there is no HOA. In fact our county does not have building inspectors so you can build anything without a permit or inspection. When I lived in Houston if you banged in a nail they would red tag you because you did not have a building permit. So after obtaining a building permit next the tax appraisers would be around to reassess your property. It is a racket. I guess t he HOA is a double edged sword. They keep your neighbor from painting their house purple and orange with a couple of washing machines and cars on blocks from in front of their house but also send you a letter if a blade of grass is touching the curb.
I am 90% of the way through a bathroom remodel. Waiting for a nasty gram about this on my front porch. I may leave it there until I get one just for fun.
You need to sit an manikin on it.
You have an STL model handy for that?
Actually I am a little afraid my 8 year old boys may use it.
A lot of HOAs become NKAs (Neighborhood Karen Associations)
My last house had the “Collect $ & don’t do much of anything” type. Although
it somehow empowered other neighbors to remind you that your garbage cans were the wrong color.
I saw a new construction neighborhood once & the toilets were sitting in the garage upside down.
When I asked why I was told, “because idiots will try to use them.”
That lettering is really sharp, well done!
