Most of Carbide Create is pretty intuitive and easy to figure out. My question is around the Model tab in Carbide Create Pro. While we pay for these extra features, there appears to be no documentation around them. Could someone point me the the right direction(do these guides exist?)? I have an idea how it works but I would like to have a more thorough understanding.

OK…I can’t just let this drop. I started to experiment with the modeling and attempted to observe the behavior of the various parameters. I’ve begun to chart out those observations. This is, by no means, complete (and may even be inaccurate) and I would much rather have C3d developers post what’s really going on in the calculations, but here are my findings - so far. Hi all. I would like try to make something like this tray. Is this possible to do on Carbide Create? I have a file for it, but it is for vectric software and I won’t be shelling out for that anytime soon. Or if anyone has a link to a simple 2.5 d file that I can mess around with that would be awesome. I have fusion 360 but am only just starting to figure that one out. Thanks!
Needing a little help with what Carbide Create can do and what it can’t do. Seems any videos I find and even in this site are all done with Vcarve software or fusion360. Can Carbide Create carve from an image like “Mikes” lighthouse? or a horse. Also I am using a Mac. Thanks for any insight

A replacement for a lost board game part — first draw up the part, measure it, select an appropriate piece of stock and set up Carbide Create to match:
I either need some guidance, or I am requesting a new 3D modeling feature for Carbide Create.
Built into Carbide Create is the ability to model Flat, Round, and Angle. In the screen shot below the top object is the classic “Angle” which produces a pyramid shape. What I want is (what I am calling) a “Ramp” shape, like the 2nd and 3rd objects below. Ramps angled horizontally or vertically.
A “Ramp” is almost the same thing as an “Angle” object, but the height just varies on two sides instead …
Designing a bowl:
First, set the stock size:
Please note the requirement that geometry extend beyond model to cut successfully:
Select circle. Go to “Model” then “Add Shape”
Shape setting “Angle” , 'Limit Height" height setting .49" and “Base” height set to 0.01"
-at this point the 3d model within the “Model” section looks perfect.
From there I go to view simulation and see that the base height from where the angle cut starts is at what appears to be 50% of material thickness.
In order to cut down to 0.01" the geometry will need to extend past the 3D model b…

We’ve just transitioned to v6 as the stable version:
which should give us a stable version to document.
The 3D modeling is pretty basic — just select geometry and apply 3D modeling to it — since you get a 3D preview on demand you can try different settings until they achieve a desired effect and things make sense.
